Monday may have been the first controversial day on Bigg Boss 11, but that in no way meant that the contestants were going to be on their best behavior inside the house. True to its reputation, the show had histrionics, fights and controversies with a fair sprinkling of light moments on (DAY 1) itself.
Unlike the previous seasons, this year’s contestants did not take time to pick up noisy fights with their co-contestants – most of them for ostensibly no valid reason. The foursome of Zubair Khan, Sapna Choudhary, Vikas Gupta and Shilpa Shinde broke into a heated argument as soon as they met each other. Was it to catch the attention of the numerous cameras in the house? Well, of course.
While Sapna was offended with Zubair’s choice of words, apparently he recited an ‘adult’ couplet, Vikas and Shilpa continued their earlier feud, which was on display at the grand premiere as well, in the house. Shilpa went on to accuse Vikas that he was on the show because of her.
After having offended Sapna, who is a Haryanvi singer, Zubair was engaged in a war of words with Puneesh Sharma, the owner of Playboy Club in Gurugram. The altercation soon became nasty, forcing other housemates to intervene to prevent it from turning violent. Zubair then warned other contestants to watch out and not get on his nerves.
Unlike the previous seasons, the contestants this time did not wake up to any musical alarm. It was later in the day that the tunes of “Mere Saamne Waali Khidki Main” welcomed them and lifted their spirits in an otherwise sombre day. The song also introduced the concept of gharwale and padosis.Bigg Boss told the four padosis — Lucinda Nicholas, Luv Tyagi, Mehjabi Siddiqui and Sabyasachi Satpathy – that the luxury budget will be the same for the entire house and they can ask the gharwalas to serve them whatever they want. Following the order, Luv ordered food for six people, and it also meant more fireworks.
As padosis were delivered food, Luv once again called the gharwalas to ask for spoons. But his apparently rude tone irked Vikas who requested Luv to be polite as they are trying their best to keep their neighbours happy.
As tempers kept flaring up, Bigg Boss had a plan up his sleeve to cool things off. A cake was sent to celebrate the birthday of TV actor Hina Khan and MTV VJ Benafsha Soonawalla. The entire house got into a celebratory mode and the day drew to a close on a light, friendly note.
